Coach Steve started out coaching chess on the side, but in a few years it was his main occupation. Not long after that, he founded Seattle Chess School and has worked with other talented coaches to bring chess education to all. As a coach, Steve focuses on inspiring and empowering his students. Competition is another important factor. Being able to win with grace and lose with wisdom is the key to success, because every game should be seen as a step forward on the path of excellence.
